We are looking for a Nurse Manager Inpatient Surgical Unit/Emergency Room with exceptional leadership and organizational skills and who will provide direction in ensuring the efficient, economical and effective utilization of the hospital’s resources to meet the identified needs of the service through quality medical care and health service programs.

The Nurse Manager will:

  • Develop mechanisms to motivate and reward staff, as needed, to assure a high level of productivity, motivation, and optimal utilization of resources
  • Responsible for the overall day –to –day operations of the unit
  • Develop policies and procedures under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer
  • Review personnel policies and practices to ensure they adequately support patient care needs; maintain complete personnel files, as required
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration in the planning and delivery of patient care
  • Develop and continually update recruitment and retention plans to ensure staffing needs are met
  • Function as liaison with Leadership team, medical staff and rest of hospital
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring the operations, programs, and physical properties
  • Establish and participate in committees designated for performance improvement, infection control, professional ethics, and policies and procedures established by the facility
  • Ensure the operations are conducted in accordance with established fiscal guidelines
  • Demonstrate the spirit of the vision, mission, and values of the Hospital through words and actions and implement them into the department processes, programs, and the working environment

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing with current and valid licensure with Texas State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Required; Master of Science in Nursing preferred
  • BLS required, ability to achieve ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and PALS certification within 60 days of hire
  • Minimum of 2 years direct nursing care of surgical patients
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing management experience
  • Demonstrates knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within nursing unit operations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of state, federal and accrediting body regulation and standards related to healthcare
