Pre-Admission Testing and Registration

South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital encourages you to get Pre-Admission Testing 2-10 days BEFORE your surgery. Your physician will order specific tests based on the procedure, your age, and your medical condition. These tests usually include blood test, urine test, EKG and/or chest X-ray.

During this appointment, we will pre-register you for surgery. We will also give you specific educational information so you know what to expect during surgery and recovery.  Your visit will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

In order to make your Pre-Admission Testing more efficient, please bring the following:

  • Insurance information, including your insurance card and a valid identification.
  • Form of payment to cover any co-pays and/or deductibles.
  • Lab and/or X-ray results if done recently at another facility.
  • A list of all home medications & supplements your currently take. (Include medication name, strength, how often you take it, and why you take it.

Pre-Admission Testing Hours

Monday – Thursday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
Friday: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
